Volcan San Pedro across Lago de Atitlan, just after we started our hike from Santa Cruz to San Marcos.
Epiphytes growing on an enormous tree on a hill by the lake.
Tall grass and trees lining the path.
Corn grows on unbelievably steep slopes around the lake!
Clouds build on Volcan San Pedro.
Lacey pauses on a ridge during our hike.
Indigenous towns are tucked into coves like this one all around the lake.
Some of the towns have other lakeside residents, too.
And flowers and fields.
Or hillside cottages.
Mazelike paths cut through San Marcos, where we spent our second night.
Our hotel was made of all recycled materials, and parts of it, like this window, by an amazing recycled-glass artists.
By the same artist.
The next day we sunned and swam all morning, and jumped from high rocks like the one I took this picture from.
We had a nice spot picked out with a great view.
We even had some visitors, like this fisherman who chatted with Lacey while she swam.
But we spent a lot of time just sunning and enjoying the view.
With the lake always there when we got too hot!
And finally, click this panorama for a larger shot!

Your blog makes me so jealous…Hope you guys continue to do good work and enjoy the beauty too. Your pictures and posts are inspiring.
